Fictional Bowler

The Dude

About

The Dude, Jeffrey Lebowski, is the ultimate slacker hero from the Coen Brothers’ The Big Lebowski, portrayed by Jeff Bridges. An unemployed bowler and avid White Russian drinker in Los Angeles, The Dude gets caught up in a case of mistaken identity that spirals into a bizarre crime caper. His laid-back philosophy and iconic style have inspired a real-life religion called Dudeism.

Before Fame

The Dude was reportedly a roadie for Metallica and one of the founders of the Seattle Seven. In his youth, he was part of the counterculture movement and drafted the original Port Huron Statement.
