Jesse Stone cast: Tom Selleck and the recurring film characters
Tom Selleck plays Jesse Stone across the television mystery films based on Robert B. Parker’s character. The recurring cast connects the cases through Stone’s police work, friendships and difficult personal life. Performers and supporting roles change between installments, so a series-wide list is not the cast of every film.
Stone and the Paradise police
Selleck’s Jesse Stone is the police chief associated with Paradise, Massachusetts. Kohl Sudduth plays Luther Suitcase Simpson, a familiar colleague. Viola Davis plays Molly Crane in the earlier films, while Kathy Baker plays Rose Gammon in later installments. The change is a different character joining the ensemble, not Baker replacing Davis as Molly.
Recurring people beyond the station
William Devane plays Dr. Dix, whose conversations with Stone create room for questions the criminal investigation cannot resolve. Stephen McHattie plays Captain Healy and William Sadler plays Gino Fish. These roles show different parts of Stone’s professional and personal network, giving later encounters context even when a new case is self-contained.
Finding a guest performer and choosing an order
Use the complete film title when identifying a victim, suspect or guest star. Death in Paradise and Benefit of the Doubt have different supporting casts, despite retaining several familiar faces. Stone Cold was released before the prequel Night Passage; release order follows the audience’s original introduction, while chronological viewing can begin with Night Passage. A cast reference should identify the installment rather than combine everyone into one imaginary episode.
