Where Cruella fits among Disney films
This live-action film focuses on the character’s early life against a 1970s London punk backdrop. Emma Stone plays this version of Cruella; viewers remembering Glenn Close are remembering another live-action portrayal. The focus here is fashion-world rivalry and the creation of an identity. Disney classifies it PG-13, which is helpful when choosing between this origin story and a family animation.
