Brosnan plays the scientist assessing the volcano, while Hamilton’s character is both mayor and mother. Graham and Lauren are Rachel’s children, and Ruth is their grandmother. Dreyfus leads the scientific team whose assessment differs from Harry’s. The ensemble connects the town-wide disaster to one family’s rescue.
