The fake relationship and the real one
Nico is the ex Andrew is trying to leave behind, while Jake helps invent a digital partner as a distraction. Rafi creates the possibility of a real relationship, making the public fiction harder to maintain. The film’s romantic-comedy engine is the gap between online appearances and actual feelings. It is a standalone LGBTQ+ romance, with no earlier installment needed to understand Andrew’s situation.
