Story, context and what to watch first
This is Curry Barker’s horror film released theatrically in 2026, rather than another film sharing the title Obsession. Its central hook is the danger of trying to control another person’s feelings. Expect relationship unease and supernatural horror rather than a conventional romantic comedy.
Why the wish is a horror premise
The attraction in the premise is created by a supernatural shortcut, which makes consent and control central to the threat. The key question is what a person actually receives when a wish is granted literally. Viewers wanting an uncomplicated romantic payoff should read the horror classification as part of the film’s identity.
