The neighborhood story around the murders
Vinny is married to Dionna, while Ritchie is his friend and Ruby’s partner. Those connections are the starting point for following an ensemble whose existing tensions intensify under collective fear. The film is set against actual murders, but its neighborhood characters form a dramatic story around them. It should therefore be approached as a historical crime drama about suspicion and belonging, rather than a documentary biography of David Berkowitz.
