Sites Like 123 Movies: Free Streaming Alternatives
Looking for sites like 123 Movies to watch a full film? Start with a licensed service rather than a changing list of mirror domains. Tubi, Pluto TV and The Roku Channel offer free viewing supported by advertising; Kanopy provides access through participating libraries. This guide compares how they work so you can choose an alternative that fits your device and viewing preferences.
Free movie websites like 123 Movies: compare the options
| Service | Best starting point | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Tubi | On-demand movies and TV with ad breaks | Search the title in your region; its catalogue is different from other services. |
| Pluto TV | Channel-style browsing and on-demand viewing | A live channel follows a schedule; choose on demand if you want to start at the beginning. |
| The Roku Channel | Free movies, shows and live channels | Choose a free listing; premium subscriptions are a separate offering. |
| Kanopy | Films through a participating public library or university | You need eligible library or institution access; borrowing limits depend on the institution. |
Which 123 Movies alternative should you choose?
Choose Tubi when you have a title in mind and want an on-demand search. Pluto TV suits browsing without deciding on a specific film first. Try The Roku Channel when you want to compare another free catalogue, and Kanopy when you already have a participating library card. A film appearing on one service does not mean it appears on all four.
Apps like 123 Movies for phones and TVs
Use the device and app links on each service's official website. Tubi lists Android, iOS, Roku, Apple TV and other supported devices. Before installing, compare the developer with the service website. You do not need an unrelated APK to use this movie guide; see our 123 Movies app and download questions.
How to find a particular movie online
- Check the exact title and year in our movie catalogue.
- Use the film page's availability search, select your country, then compare free, subscription and rental listings.
- Open the actual provider and confirm the price before playing. A free account or free trial is different from a permanently free title.
For a starting shortlist, explore free action movie ideas or horror films to look for on Tubi. These are discovery lists, not a live guarantee of availability.
What about Reddit lists and older alternatives guides?
A Reddit recommendation or a list labelled 2025 can help you discover a name, but it cannot establish that a domain is still operated by the same people or has a film today. Go to the provider's own site and check its current catalogue. Avoid treating a similarly named mirror as an official replacement.
