Knuckles series: cast, story and Sonic movie order
Looking for the Knuckles movie? Knuckles is a six-episode live action and animation series in the Sonic the Hedgehog screen universe. Idris Elba returns as the voice of the echidna warrior, with Adam Pally as Wade Whipple.
What the Knuckles series is about
Knuckles agrees to train Wade in the ways of an Echidna warrior. The unlikely partnership takes the story toward Wade’s bowling competition and family problems, with action built around Knuckles learning how to live on Earth. It is a buddy comedy as well as a Sonic spin-off; Wade receives substantial story time. Knuckles’ literal understanding of warrior honor gives Wade a comic model for confronting problems he would usually avoid. Their different ideas of courage drive the relationship beyond a series of action scenes.
Where it belongs in the films
The series follows Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and takes place before Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Watching the second film first explains Knuckles’ arrival and his relationship with Sonic and Tails. You can follow the central Wade story without treating every scene as a setup for a later film.
Cast and format
Elba voices Knuckles and Pally plays Wade. Unlike a standalone feature, the show develops its road trip across separate episodes. Search the provider’s series listing rather than expecting a single feature-length Knuckles film; check local access on Paramount+ directly.
