Naruto Shippuden filler list: episodes to skip and keep
This Naruto Shippuden filler list separates anime-original detours from episodes that carry the main story. Shippuden contains 500 episodes; use its own episode numbers, not the numbering of the original Naruto series. Keep mixed episodes on a first viewing because they also contain adapted story material.
Quick list of filler episode ranges
The Anime Filler List classification identifies these filler ranges: 57–71, 91–112, 144–151, 170–171, 176–196, 223–242, 257–260, 271, 279–281, 284–295, 303–320, 347–361, 376–377, 388–390, 394–413, 416–417, 422–423, 427–450, 464–468 and 480–483. These are optional when your goal is to follow the main adapted story. Episode 28 is listed separately as anime canon by that source.
How to use the list without losing the plot
Find the number of the episode you have just finished, then compare the next episode against the ranges above. If it falls inside a range, move to the first number after that range. For example, after 56 you can continue at 72; after 90 you can continue at 113. Do not skip an entire season based on its label, because streaming platforms divide the run differently. Episode numbers are more reliable than a provider’s season packaging.
Filler does not mean worthless
Filler is a relationship to the source manga, not a quality score. A viewer interested in background and character time may enjoy optional arcs even when the main plot proceeds without them. The Kakashi-focused material in 347–361 is a different viewing choice from the recap-oriented 257–260 stretch. On a rewatch, pick according to the characters you want more time with rather than treating every detour as an error.
Why other lists disagree
Fan guides use different rules for anime canon, mixed episodes and material connected to novels. That is why total filler counts can differ while the practical skip ranges largely overlap. This guide follows the named source’s classification, rather than presenting a disputed count as an official ruling. The end of the run should not be discarded simply because it follows the central battle: later episodes also provide character conclusions.
