Power Book guide: Ghost, Raising Kanan and Force
The Power Book shows are related crime dramas in the Power universe. The numbered subtitles identify different series, not individual seasons of one show. Ghost follows Tariq, Raising Kanan is a prequel, and Force follows Tommy after the original Power story.
Power Book II: Ghost
Ghost centers on Tariq St. Patrick, played by Michael Rainey Jr., as he attempts to manage education, family obligations and a criminal life. It continues consequences from Power, so starting here reveals important outcomes from the original series. The title references the legacy of James St. Patrick rather than promising a new season led by him.
Power Book III: Raising Kanan
Raising Kanan moves into the earlier life of Kanan Stark and his family. Mekai Curtis plays the young Kanan and Patina Miller plays his mother Raq. Because it is a prequel, it can be followed as its own period crime drama, but viewers of Power will recognize the significance of where its characters may be heading.
Power Book IV: Force and a practical viewing order
Force follows Tommy Egan, played by Joseph Sikora, into a new Chicago criminal landscape. For a first viewing, finish the original Power before Ghost or Force. Raising Kanan can then be watched as a separate prequel strand; its earlier chronology does not mean it must be the first show you see. Choose the specific subtitle when checking providers so that an episode from one series is not mistaken for the next episode of another.
